World Heritage Day (WHD) is being observed across the globe today on 18 April 2016 to create awareness about the shared wealth of humankind and preserving this valuable asset demands the collective efforts of the international community. World heritage is a wonderful reminder of our rich past.
The International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) recognises 18 April as World Heritage Day. This was approved by the 22nd UNESCO General Conference in 1983.
